In honor of this tremendous talent and Hall of Famer, who passed in 2011, Harmon was the youngest active player in Major League Baseball when he joined the Washington Senators in 1954. Slugging over forty home runs in eight seasons, Harmon was known for his tape measure shots, including a 520 foot home run at Metropolitan Stadium in Minneapolis. An American League MVP, Harmon finished his career with 573 homers, second to Babe Ruth, at the time.
